In Loving Memory

Michael Lee WeiDel

Born October 14, 1958
Los Angeles, California

Entered Into Rest May 30, 2020
Boulder, Colorado

Michael Lee WeiDel, was born on October 14, 1958, in Los Angeles, California to William WeiDel, Jr. and Beverly Anne Moore. He attended Hollywood High School and completed his GED. He was a professional rock drummer in the heavy metal music world and circulated in Hollywood with rock bands like Van Halen and Ozzy Osbourne. He introduced his family to heavy metal music and attended numerous big band rock concerts with them throughout the years. He was an avid sports lover. His favorite teams were the L.A. Dodgers and Denver Broncos and enjoyed attending their games with his family. He was also a World War II buff and played board games with different war scenarios, complete with 3-D model miniatures. He passed on his music and sports passions to his sons.

He hung up his drumsticks when he married Daisy Ann Gamez of Beeville, Texas, in Los Angeles, California and started a family.

He discovered his entrepreneurial spirit when he became the vice president of a courier company in Pasadena, California. He moved his family to San Diego, California to start his own courier company. Later, he sold the company and became the business owner of a retail sports card store. He then moved his family to Colorado to start a new life. He attended the Arapahoe Community College and earned a degree in Criminal Justice at the Law Enforcement Academy in Littleton, Colorado. He became self-employed and provided corporate security in the private sector. He was retired for the last 12 years.
He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Lee (“Mike”) WeiDel II; parents William WeiDel, Jr. and Beverly Anne Perry; grandmother Ethel Ray Moore; and Aunt Gladys (Moore) Phonart.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Daisy Ann WeiDel of almost 37 years and son, William Erik WeiDel, both of Boulder, Colorado; sister, Joanne Nowak and nephews Antoni Jan Nowak and Matthew Jan Nowak of Stagecoach, Nevada; and numerous relatives by marriage.

He will be sadly missed by his family and remembered well by friends.

My heart goes out to Daisy and her family. Losing a spouse is not an easy part of life. Losing a spouse at a younger age is much worse. I hope you can find comfort in your memories.

It's always a tragedy when we lose someone. Their love we'll never forget. But have solace in knowing, unlike us, he is in a better place, HEAVEN!
