Alan loved the outdoors. He was an avid mountain biker, snowboarder, hiker and photographer. He loved to ride his bike to capture sunrises and sunsets. He had an eye for beauty, and a love of art. He enjoyed sketching and created many beautiful pieces and had a passion for Wolverine Comic Books. Long lasting friendships were so important to him.
Alan's greatest joy and cherished moments in life were with his 2 beautiful daughters. He married Katharine Atkins in 2012 and added Alarie and Kyla to their family. They later divorced. He taught his daughters to be silly and laugh, he dressed up for Halloween, took them skiing, swam in the pool more times than you can count. He introduced them to legos, building snowmen and their joy at riding a bike. He was so proud of their love of learning. They are too young to lose a father and he has left a legacy of love.
Alan was a special son, there was never a dull moment when he was in the room. We will miss his smiling eyes, his dry humor, and his love for his parents and extended family. Alan was the best little brother. He loved his sister's family. His connection with his uncles, aunts and cousins was near and dear to his heart. He reminded us to embrace the day and never take life for granted. His laughter was infectious and his heart was kind beyond words.
