Angelo (Angelius) George Voris, 94, of Boulder Colorado, entered into God’s kingdom on August 17, 2023. He was born July 10, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey to Evangeline (1903-1988) and George Voris (1892-1946). He had one older brother Nicholas (1927-2003).
Angelo is survived by his daughter Angela (Mike); sons Paul (Denise), Peter (Corryn), and Alexander (Amanda); and grandsons, Zachary, Nicholas, Asher, Kyle, Benjamin (Zoey), and Jacob.
While a young boy, Angelo’s father went to Greece for employment, leaving his family behind in the United States to follow him at a later date. Eventually the family settled in Greece near his father’s family. But with the outbreak of WWII, they were forced to return to the United States.
Angelo worked for Consolidated Edison of New York and was drafted into the Army in 1951. He completed three tours of duty in the Korean war with the 50th Engineer Port Construction Company. He was honorably discharged and returned to work for Bell Telephone Laboratories in New Jersey. In the 1960’s he moved his family from New Jersey to Colorado. He retired from AT&T Bell Laboratories in the mid-1980’s. He continued working as a contractor for Ball Aerospace and Boeing as a mechanical engineer.
Angelo was a lifelong Orthodox Christian. He was a great storyteller and his entertaining tall tales of his childhood and time spent in Korea and Japan will be missed.
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
