Arlene Ann (Tucker) Dunford, 89, of Maryville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Village Care.
Arlene was born on September 14, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, to Raymond Valentine and Irene Veronica (Warren) Tucker. She graduated from Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, New York, in 1951. Arlene began her career as an Administrative Secretary for Price Waterhouse in New York City. She also worked as an Administrative Secretary for Donald MacLachlan and John Manning, her first two husbands and the late fathers of her children. Later in life, Arlene dedicated herself to women's counseling with Birthright. She found joy in reading scripture, painting with watercolors, service work, and spending cherished moments with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She resided in Colorado for 40 years before moving to Maryville, Missouri. In 2010, she served as a senior missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was known as a spirited and devoted member of her church community.
Arlene met and fell in love with Franklin W. Dunford, and they married on March 22, 2012. They enjoyed their church callings and visiting friends and family together. Franklin was a loving and kind husband who preceded her in death in November 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Dorene MacLachlan and Lynn Fields.
Arlene is survived by her children: Bonnie MacLachlan, Brian MacLachlan, Susan Maclachlan-Dimson (Stuart), Janene (Travis) Felton, and Michael Manning; her eleven grandchildren: Ryan Olnowich, Kelly Olnowich, Leora Marquess, Brittney Fields, Jacqueline Fields, Zachary Fields, Sean McDarby, Shash Dimson, Oak Dimson, Ashtyn Felton, and Ian Felton; her great-grandchild, Kingston Olnowich; her three sisters: Jacqueline Arnold, Joyce Oldenburg, Jeanette Dillon; and her brother, Raymond Tucker.
Services will be held at South Boulder LDS Church on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, beginning with a viewing at 9:00 AM and a service starting at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder. The family suggests memorials be made to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
