Barbara J. DiPasquale
6/19/1951 – 10/19/2022

Barb DiPasquale of Lafayette, CO passed away peacefully on October 19, 2022. Born in Granville, IL to Albert and Mary Bradish she grew up in the Midwest moving away after graduating from high school to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Barb attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee receiving a BBS in Finance and a MS in Financial Analysis. She received the Smith-Holt and Yates Investment Advisors Scholarship award and a teaching assistantship for Managerial Accounting at the UWM Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business.

Barb spent her professional life working in financial services, federal and state contract administration and managing several businesses including a private family office for a brewery dynasty in Wisconsin and a bakery operation purchased in default as a private investment. Her favorite position was working with an amazing group of people at CU-Boulder’s Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics Lab (LASP) during a unique period of time.

The LASP position led Barb to find a volunteer position at Rocky Mountain National Park’s Astronomy Program for more than 9 years. Astronomy volunteering led to opportunities to collect light data for Bioblitz science allowing for investigation of the effects of light pollution on animal migration and hibernation. Other volunteer positions included Winter Snowshoe Hikes and Bugle Corps (elk rut) – much joy and knowledge were derived from all.

Growing up Barb showed American Saddlebred horses on the Midwest circuit. Although she maintained her amateur card, she would occasionally catch ride for other owners. With a longtime family connection to Saddlebred and Standardbred horses, Saddlebred horses were a lifelong love and hobby during her early years even after leaving the showring.

During the show season, Barb became interested in Jack Russell terrier dogs. Her first dog, Preston Kimball, was purchased at the Tattersall’s horse auction in Lexington, KY. Her current love, Ruffwinds Havoc, was a field trial champion at many levels in Colorado and was adopted from a Loveland breeder. Barb was a part of the Dry Creek trail “community” and collected many friendships, laughs, and conversations on the trail hikes.

She enjoyed many contemplative experiences at St. Benedicts Monastery in Old Snowmass before and after moving to Colorado.
