Barbara Ann Polito, beloved Mother of four and widow of her late Husband, Anthony Polito, died July 6, 2014 at the age of 78. She was born on June 23, 1936 in Lorain, Ohio to James Manley Brandon and Frankie Belle Martin. She is survived by her three sons, Nino Polito, Kelly Polito, Franco Polito and her only daughter, Ann Marie Polito.
Barbara had fond memories of growing up on Avon Lake, Ohio. When she was seventeen she met her Husband, Anthony Polito at a Christmas Party in Avon Lake and it was love at first site for them both. She remembered how handsome he was playing in a band at the teen canteen, blowing beer through his Clarinet.
Unfortunately both of their parents did not approve of their relationship so because they were both under age, they had to elope to Angola, Indiana where they were married on July 28th,1954, which was Anthony’s 18th Birthday. They traveled throughout the country and started a family. They had four children throughout the years, traveling from Las Vegas, Alaska, California and eventually making Arizona their home of 52 years.
Barbara was a wonderful Mother and Homemaker. She truly found her calling as a Mother and also found her hidden talent of cooking. She truly had a special gift when it came to meal times and special family gatherings around the table. The family has very fond memories of Birthdays and Holidays around a Beautiful Table of Mom’s Home Cooking! We will never forget how special she made those times. She truly had a special touch and flare for making every meal and Holiday unforgettable. She always opened her home to everyone. We always had friends over and even strangers that someone brought for the first time were always welcome at her table. She had a very giving and open heart that way.
But even more than that, she had a very giving and tender Heart. She always brought peace to our family and could somehow make everything seem all right even in your darkest hour. She always looked on the bright side of life and saw the good in everyone. She was the ultimate optimist. She would never hold a grudge with anyone. She always forgave no matter what. She was the ultimate giver at heart. She was the most loving, happy person anyone could ever know. She was the glue that kept our family together. Without her, our family will never be the same. She was our Peace and our Security. We will never forget you, Mom. Our lives will never
be the same without you holding everyone together. We will love you always and forever. May the Lord hold you closely in His Hands and give you the Peace that you so richly gave to us all of our lives together.
Miss you, Mom. Love you, Mom. You are always in our Hearts forever. May God Bless and Keep you always, Mom.
Your children, Nino, Kelly, Frank and Ann Marie Polito.
