Barbara Simpson

October 10, 1926 — February 24, 2016

Barbara Marie Simpson, daughter of Archibald Sullivan and Helena Leonard Sullivan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Frasier Meadows Retirement community in Boulder, Colorado on February 24, 2016.   She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister Maureen Sullivan Bernard. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Philip Simpson; Sister, Jane Sullivan Cadarette, sons Philip Simpson, Jr. and Daniel Simpson; and daughter Elizabeth Simpson Dietz; grandchildren Anthony, Louis, John and Sage Simpson; Nicholas, Annalisa and Isaac Dietz; and Chloe Simpson.
Barbara was born on October 10, 1926 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She graduated from Emanuel College with a degree in chemistry. After college, she gained employment in Washington D.C. for the Nation Bureau of Standards. There she met her loving husband, Philip Simpson. In 1954, when Mr. Simpson’s division was transferred to Boulder, Colorado, Barbara resigned from her position and moved with her husband out west. She went on to raise her 3 children, stay active in the community, and remain always devoted in her faith.
