Charlene Ruth Ridings unexpectedly died in her home on August 1, 2016 in Lakewood, Colorado. She was 56.
Charlene is survived by her children, Charlton Ridings of Lakewood, Colorado; Christian Ridings of Durango, Colorado; and her grandchild Kayla Dean Ridings of Lakewood, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband, Craig S. Ridings of Lakewood, Colorado and her father Charles J. Howard of Houston, Texas.
Charlene was born on November 1st, 1959 in Galveston, Texas to her parents Dr. Charles J. and Catherine L. Howard. She graduated from Klein High School in 1977. Charlene went on to study at Stephen F. Austin University and earned a Bachelor in Business Administration in 1981. She met her husband Craig S. Ridings in Houston Texas and they were married on August 17, 1985 and moved to Colorado. Together they began a rental car agency for the Eagle Vail Valley and later partnered and operated one of the first casinos in Blackhawk, Colorado. Charlene was a devoted wife and mother who gave loving care and support to Craig as he battled multiple sclerosis. After Craig's death, Charlene devoted her time and energy to her sons and granddaughter. She will be remembered as one who loved wholly, gave of herself generously, and laughed often. Her smile will forever live in our hearts.
Charlene was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church.
