Charles H. Whitaker left this life on July 26, 2016, having fought the good fight against cancer for over seven years. Charlie was born in upstate New York. He graduated from Bryant College where he found and married the love of his life Judy.
The family moved to Boulder in 1972, on a job transfer with GTE. After GTE he worked for several small businesses before retiring in 2002.
He enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, camping, gardening, horseback riding, & all things CU. He was involved in 4-H as a club leader and served on the Boulder County Fair Board and Livestock Sale Committee.
Charlie was an ardent supporter of the Buffs, having season football tickets for over four decades. An active Buff Club and board member, volunteered in the football office, performed class checks, and acted as "security" for football practices. He considered it an honor to volunteer & assist with the Buffs4Life annual golf tournament.
He is remembered by his wife Judy, children Heidi, Beverly and Kevin, grandchildren Mike, Tug, and Cameron, and sister Katherine DeBlasiis.
A celebration of life will be held July 30, 2016 at the CU Touchdown Club, 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either Buffs4Life or {Cancer Support in Boulder County}.
