Clare Sylva (Lefkoe) Udis, 91 years old and a Boulder resident for over 50 years, died on November 26, 2018, at her home. Clare was a realtor and a former school teacher. She was born on April 10, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Maurice and Kathryn (Alman) Lefkoe. Clare was raised in Lansdale, Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in business from Pennsylvania State University. She married Bernard Udis in 1950 and had two children, Laura and Kevin. Clare and Bud divorced in 1973. Her ex-husband predeceased her. Clare was active in the Boulder Jewish community and was one of the early members of Congregation Har HaShem. She enjoyed being with her children and grandson, classical music, cats, and the wildlife that visited her northwest Boulder home. She followed domestic and international events with great interest and often engaged others in dialogue about these issues.
Clare is survived by her children, Laura of Washington DC, Kevin (Victoria Kaye) of Broomfield, her grandson Jeremy of Denver, step-granddaughter Rebecca Weiss (Mickey) of Longmont, and several cousins and nieces. Her brother, Arthur Lefkoe, predeceased her.
Contributions may be made to Congregation Har HaShem or the Humane Society of Boulder Valley.
