David (Riverside) Rivera, 71 of Firestone passed away February 3, 2018. He was born January 1, 1947 and raised in Puritan Camp Erie, Colorado, son of Jesse Rivera and Isabelle Camacho. David graduated from Erie High School in 1966. He was employed as an engineer by Ball Aerospace for 22 years. After retiring from Ball, he was a police officer for 10 years in numerous towns and cities across the front range. David enjoyed the outdoors, barbeques with friends and family, coaching softball for many years , as well as watching and supporting his children and grandchildren in their sporting events. He also enjoyed drawing and projects around the home. David is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Rivera; his children David, Jr. (Kim) Rivera, Christopher (Gail) Rivera, Michelle Rivera, Tamara (Brandon) Gomez; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. David was actively involved in the upbringing of his niece Candida Heath and nephew Chico Garcia. David was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Rivera and Isabelle Camacho, grandparents Ysidro Camacho, Irene Camacho and aunt Chata Camacho.
