Dorothy Hinshaw

Dorothy M. Hinshaw, of Boulder, passed away May 24, 2012 at HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties. Dorothy was born on January 12, 1915 to William and Gertrude (Amberg) Zeren in Fairfax, Minnesota. She married James H. Hinshaw in Boulder. Most of Dorothy’s adult life was devoted to caring for her family. She was active at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church as a member of the Alter and Rosary Society. As a Lady Elk, Dorothy made many quilts for our veterans. Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother that never had a bad word towards anyone. She is survived by three sons: Bill, Jim and Bob, two siblings, nine grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband and five siblings. A memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 30th at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Park following the reception. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley.
