Eddie Holliness
October 29,1934 - February 21, 2019

Eddie was born in Columbus Mississippi to Sylvester and Martha Holliness. After graduating from high school Eddie joined the United States Air Force and served honorably for 26 years as an aircraft mechanic and maintenance expert. His tours of duty included Vietnam, Germany, Pakistan, Michigan, California, and Oregon. During his career of service Eddie was able to travel the world with his family before retiring as a Master Sergeant and settling down in Lafayette Colorado. After retirement from active duty service Master Sergeant Eddie Holliness continued in government work as an employee of the Department of Commerce National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), from where he again retired in 2005.

Along with his love for traveling the country, Eddie was an avid bowler and joined an elite club when he rolled a perfect 300 game on his 70th birthday. He believed in family and enjoyed spending time talking with others whether on the phone or in person. It was to this end that he never met a stranger because his disposition was to lovingly welcome anyone he encountered into a relationship with him.

He is survived by his best friend and wife of 58 years, Mary Ann, daughter Shari and Darryl Searuggs, daughter Karen and Carl Richard, and son Randall and Tammy Holliness.
Grandchildren Jasmine and Dominique Searuggs, Delaney, Garrett and Donovan Richard and Jackson and Kayla Holliness. Brother Henry Holliness, Sister Emma Mooberry and a host of nieces and nephews as well as Godchildren Richard Wilmer Jr., Justin Miller, A.J. Albert and Dr., Hildy Joe. His family also includes adoptive members Jackie Jiron and Manny Cunningham. Eddie is preceded in death by nine sisters and brothers, along with granddaughter Yvette Richard.

Eddie was a faithful servant and member of Aurora Colorado’s Living Hope Community Church. When all was said and done, he always would say, “I had a good life”.
