Elaine B. Poncelow passed away on January 12, 2012.
She was born to Thomas R and Elizabeth Bridges on April 12, 1952 in Hampton, VA. After following Air Force postings in Japan and Hawaii they finally settled in Colorado Springs.
During a youth meeting at their church Elaine met Donald Poncelow. They were married on July 17, 1971.
Elaine loved to tend and encourage both plants and children. Her garden was full of zucchini, tomatoes, and squash just as her heart was filled with joy, generosity, and encouragement. She considered the teaching of children to be her life's ministry. She taught Sunday school, BSF, VBS and church camp for many years and nurtured and encouraged countless children besides.
She also loved sewing and quilting, gardening and canning, and sitting outside in the Colorado sunshine enjoying the view of the mountains with her loving husband and constant companion.
She is survived by her mother Elizabeth, her sisters Suzanne and Marion, her brother Bernie, her husband Don, her sons David, Michael, and Jonathan, her grandchildren Sarah, Samuel, and Conlan, and a million flowers. All will miss her terribly.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11am at Valley Christian Church 14555 Link Road, Fountain, CO 80817-4168
