On Wednesday February 15, 2023, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Frederick J Wostenberg died. Grant eternal rest, O Lord, unto thy servant and let perpetual light shine upon him. A Boulder, Colorado icon, Fred was an industrial arts teacher at Casey Jr. High for more than 30 years, and an inspiration to many. Born in Sharon Springs, KS he grew up farming and learning the construction trades from his father. A veteran, Fred joined the United States Army in 1954, and subsequently graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a masters degree in Industrial Arts and Business. There he met and married his loving wife Carol Ann Grasser in 1958. They were married for 64 years and he is survived by his wife Carol Ann, his 4 children: Frederick A. Wostenberg (Paula Fay), Steven Wostenberg (Cecilia Salcedo), Lynn Hindman (David Hindman), and Karen Stoneman (Lafe Stoneman), 14 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Fred passed away in the home, which he built in 1971, surrounded by family. He was an avid gardener and golfer, loved taking cruises with his wife, friends and family, and most of all simply gathering for food, lively conversation, evangelization, and cards on weekends and holidays. A devout catholic, Fred was a long-time parishioner at Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Boulder, CO. A visitation and rosary will be held at Greenwood & Myers Mortuary, 2969 Baseline Road, on Monday February 20th, with viewing beginning at 4:00 pm and Rosary at 5:30 pm.
