Jerry Kokora passed away on July 9th of complications from cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley. Survived by six children: Kathy, Jay (Dona), Steve (Deirdre), Jean (Bryan), Jamey (Mike), and Pat. Also survived by 26 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and Shirley's children and grandchildren.
Mr. Kokora was a math teacher, tennis coach, and athletic trainer in Boulder and Longmont for over 25 years. He will be remembered by many students for his interesting collection of neckties and his constant instructions to “write the freakin’ formula”. And, of course, those eyebrows.
Mr. Kokora’s many passions in life included traveling, golf, church and dinner with friends, fishing, watching baseball, martinis, books, science fiction, history, religion, the numbers zero and one, and Dunkin’ Donuts.
Visitation Monday, July 22nd from 5-7:00 pm at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont. Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm. Services Tuesday July 23rd at 10:00 at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Boulder.
