Janet M. Weber, 76, born September 4th 1948, passed away on February 13th in Boulder, Colorado.
Janet Weber, daughter of Harvey and Polly Weber, was born in Springfield, Illinois and was called to Boulder, Colorado in the early 1970s.
Janet always cared about helping others, earning her Masters in Psychology from Indiana University, and going on to be a social worker, and eventually a therapist in private practice. She believed fiercely in equality and justice, standing on the front lines of protests in her younger years and always speaking up for what she believed in.
Janet was a woman who marched to the beat of her own drum, all the way to the end. Her humor was unwavering, and touched the laughs of many. Her spirit was strong, defiant, and tenacious. At the age of 47, Janet made the bold decision to become a mother, despite all odds and all advice from others. She adopted two daughters from China in 1997 and 1999, devoting the rest of her life to raising them with the same fierce independence and compassion that defined her own life. She poured her heart into motherhood, instilling in Amanda and Emily the values of resilience and courage.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Amanda and Emily Weber.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Polly Weber, and sister, Jean Lawson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 21st at 4pm at Greenwood & Myers Mortuary in Boulder, Colorado. All are welcome.
