Janice Morzinski

Janice E. Morzinski, resident of Sunshine Canyon, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center in Lafayette. George, her husband of 54 years and her children were at her side. She was 76.
Janice was born June 28, 1935 in Evanston, Illinois to Bernard and Evelyn (Fryklund) Kodym. She married George J. Morzinski of San Diego, California on April 27, 1957 in Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel overlooking Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota. After the wedding the couple moved to Boulder where her husband was stationed at the National Bureau of Standards. Janice was a graduate of St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing affiliated with the College of St. Scholalstica in Duluth. She remained active participant in alumni activities; always enjoying the special friendships built in nurse's training. In the late 50's Jan worked at the Boulder County Hospital on Iris & Broadway.
In 1962 they moved to the Washington D.C. area and stayed there for 35 years. Twenty three of those years were spent as a night nurse at Carl Vinson Hall Infirmary for retired naval officers in McLean, Virginia. They returned to Boulder in 1997 after retirement to build their home in the Foothills and spent much of their time traveling and visiting family and friends. Jan's at home hobbies included raising flowers, reading and enjoying mountain walks.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1318 Mapleton Avenue, in Boulder. Mass will be preceded by the recitation of the rosary at 1:30 p.m. A luncheon will be provided in Jubilee Hall after Mass. A private interment is being scheduled for Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, George, her son, Paul Morzinski, Boulder, CO, her daughter, Mary Ann Sarnovsky and son-in-law Michael Sarnovsky, two grandchildren; Gracie and Adam Sarnovsky, Vienna VA and two sisters-in-law Mary Catherine Redmond and Florence Stowski, San Diego, CA.
