Jay R. Andrews, 58, of Boulder, Colorado passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the University of Colorado Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont, Colorado. A memorial service will be held at Grace Commons Church in Boulder, Colorado on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
Jay was born on April 4, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Bob and Roberta Andrews. Together with his brother Andy, Jay's family enjoyed many trips to Keystone, Colorado, and it was here that Jay developed a lifelong passion for snow skiing.
Jay graduated from Iowa State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science. He completed his law degree at Creighton University in 1992. He would continue to serve as a labor, employment, and litigation attorney for several successful corporations such as Collective Brands, Sprouts, and most recently Crocs, Incorporated. While at Crocs, Jay gained the trust and respect of colleagues worldwide as he was inherently kind and compassionate but also measured and extremely thoughtful with his advice.
Jay overcame adversity when he tragically lost his parents and brother as a young adult. He was purposeful in building a life filled with joy and love, which he found in his four children Megan, Robbie, Nick, and Sarah. He was a loving partner and husband to Stephanie, building their life together centered around family.
Jay was a loyal friend, loving nothing more than making others smile and laugh. He also had a knack for picking the perfect song for any occasion. Indeed, throughout his life he had a deep appreciation for music and loved seeking out new songs.
Survivors include his wife Stephanie with whom he shares daughter Sarah and children Megan, Robert (Madeline), and Nicholas from a former marriage to Jennifer (Eganhouse). He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle Robert and Roberta Wiley, his brother Andrew, and his paternal grandmother Dorothy. His family takes comfort in knowing that he has joined his loved ones and our Lord in a warm embrace.
Jay's sense of humor, engaging smile, and deep love for his family will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
