Jean A. (Keating) Coan
Jean Ann Coan (nee Keating) Age 83 passed peacefully on June 1st, 2015 after a brief illness.
Born in Dublin, Ireland on April 25, 1932, to Susan (Powell) and Thomas Keating. Jean immigrated to the United States at the age of 17. Jean settled in the Chicago area where she lived with relatives. Jean began her new life in the states with an early career in waitressing at the famous “Top of the Rock” where she met many close friends. Jean married and raised four children. Later, she went on to become a nursing assistant where she enjoyed caregiving. Jean’s great passions later in life included her eight grandchildren all of whom reside in Colorado. Jean was very involved in the Irish American community. Many will remember her gift of lively conversation, Irish brogue, and generous heart.
Jean was laid to rest in Boulder, Colorado at Green Mountain Cemetery on June 5th, 2015. Survivors include her four children, eight grandchildren, and niece.
