Jennifer Cordell

October 7, 1959 — July 18, 2024

Jennifer Cordell, née Johnson, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, at the age of 64 after a long, hard-fought battle with Parkinson's disease. Born on October 7, 1959, in Boulder, Colorado, Jennifer lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community.

Jennifer was the beloved daughter of Fred and Ora Johnson. She grew up in a close-knit family with her siblings: Julie Herman (David) and their children Rebecca and Jeremy; Stephanie Bond (Bill) and their children Melissa and Jessica; Kelly Baum (Tom) and their children Travis, Tyler, and Brittany; and Wayne Johnson (Rebecca) and their children Ava and Erika.

A 1978 graduate of Boulder High School, Jennifer later moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she created a beautiful and fulfilling life. She married Robert "Bob" Cordell, and together they raised two wonderful children, Heidi Marie Cordell and Kyle Logan Cordell. Tragically, Jennifer was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Heidi, her father Fred, and her husband Bob.

Jennifer's life was a testament to her kind and generous spirit. She spent many dedicated years working at the Steamboat Ski Area and Strawberry Park Elementary School. Jennifer's warmth and compassion were felt by all who knew her; she would have given her last quarter and the shirt off her back to anyone in need.

Her love for her family was matched only by her love for her four-legged friends. Jennifer found joy in spending time with her family and animals, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

In honoring Jennifer's wishes, a small family celebration will take place. In lieu of flowers, please consider performing a kind act for another or making a donation to your favorite charity, particularly those benefiting animals, in her memory.

Jennifer Cordell will be remembered as the kindest, most loving woman, whose legacy of compassion and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
