John Lopez Jr., 71, passed away June 3, 2019. Born in Trinidad, CO, to Elsie and John Lopez Sr., he was a long-time Denver-area resident.
John is survived by children Paul Lopez of Denver, Annamarie Altomare (Richard) of Michigan, Keith McCallum of Denver, and Kendall McCallum of Denver; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; several great-grandchildren; and brothers Jerry and Gene of California. His parents and brother Joseph preceded him in death.
John retired from the Denver Police Department in 1990 after 20 years of service. He enjoyed reading classic western novels and was a real “Mr. Fix-It” who loved working on home improvement projects. He was an active member of New Hope Ministry in Lakewood.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Kelly and Rick Mezey, Leann Stelzer, Ann and Paul Umbriaco, Glen Rogers, and Georgeann Aris and her son Nick for their love and support.
Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to New Hope Ministry, 875 S. Sheridan, Lakewood, Co, 80226.
