It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Lupinski, a beloved resident of Boulder, CO, who lost his courageous battle with Stage IV lung cancer on August 22, 2024. John passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

John was born on November 3, 1947, in Glen Cove, NY, to Lillian Diamond and Stanley Lupinski. He was one of three children and is survived by his siblings, Barbara Smith of Melbourne, FL, and Stanley (Marti) Lupinski of Canton, GA.

After graduating from Glen Cove High School, John enlisted in the United States Air Force. His passion for learning led him to the University of Denver, where he graduated in 1974 with a degree in Accounting. John married the love of his life, Coletta, in Aspen, CO, and their marriage of 49 years was a testament to their enduring love and partnership.

John was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his two children, Melissa (Chris) Horn of Lakewood, CO, and Eric (Kristian) Lupinski of Lafayette, CA. He was the proud grandfather of three grandchildren: Lillian (10) and Charlotte Horn (7) and Bauer Lupinski (8), who were the light of his life.

John's passions were as vast as his heart. He found joy in hiking, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and spending cherished moments with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved the serenity of the Colorado mountains and the tranquility of the Cayman Islands, where he created countless friendships and cherished memories.

Throughout his life, John touched many with his kindness, love, and inspiration. His memory will be forever cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

John's legacy of love, resilience, and dedication to his family and friends will continue to inspire all who knew him.
