John Mason

John Mason Jr, J.D. died peacefully on Oct. 30, 2018 in the loving arms of his wife of 42 years, Dona Mason. Born in Trinidad, Colorado on Oct. 19, 1930, he recently celebrated his 88th birthday surrounded by many of the family and friends who loved him. John was a cheerful and generous soul who was a joy to have in our lives. John had a solo law practice for over 40 years; practicing in Denver for many years and then in Johnstown in his “retirement” for about 10 years. Over the years he mentored and sponsored many young people in the legal profession who have become like family. John was just as proud of this as he was of being admitted and qualified as an attorney and counsellor of the Colorado and US Supreme Courts.

He is survived by his loving wife Dona Mason, his brother William Mason (Diane), his sons Fred Mason (Liz) and John Mason III and Dennis Zoglo (Mary). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Michael and Rachel Mason and Kevin, Marie and Christy Zoglo.

For family, friends and clients in the Denver metro area there will be a service at Greenwood/Myers Mortuary in Boulder on Thursday Nov. 1 at 7pm with visitation from 5 to 7pm. John will be buried in his beloved hometown of Trinidad and there will be a mortuary service at Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home in Trinidad on Saturday Nov. 3 at 12pm with visitation from 10am to 12.
