Judy E. Florian, age 59, of Louisville, CO, died suddenly on July 8, 2024. She was born on November 28, 1964 in Elmhurst, IL.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Keith Lindsay; her caring daughter, Sophie Lindsay; her father, Kurt Florian of Naperville, Il; and her brother Kurt (Linda) Florian, Jr. of Wheaton IL. She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Florian.
Judy was raised in Wheaton, IL. She loved education and was a true life-long learner. She earned a BS in mathematics from the University of Chicago, an MA in experimental psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a PhD in cognitive psychology from the University of Michigan, and an MSW from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Judy wore many career hats: an education researcher, a middle and high school teacher, a paraeducator, a certified nursing assistant, a hospice worker, and a social worker in a senior living community. The role she cherished the most was being a mother. Her loving, supporting nature shone through in these roles.
Judy was an active member of Grace Commons Church of Boulder, CO. She participated in service trips to Las Cruces, NM and Acuña, Mexico, served as a Stephen minister helping meet the spiritual and emotional needs of those going through difficult times in life, volunteered in summer music camps for children, and sang in the Chancel Choir.
Judy loved music, playing the piano, flute, and piccolo. She enjoyed attending concerts of classical and contemporary music, as well as operas. She recently revived her interest in piano by starting to take piano lessons. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, with pets, and reading.
A memorial service for Judy will take place on Saturday, July 27, 10:00 AM at Grace Commons Church, 1820 15th Street, Boulder, CO. The service will be live-streamed at
