Kelly Ann Emery of Boulder Colorado, loving daughter of Judy and Mark Emery, sister of Eric Emery, passed away October 20, 2017 after a brief illness.
Kelly attended Foothill Elementary, Centennial Middle School, and graduated from Boulder High School in 2010. She attended the University of Colorado and graduated 2014 with a BS in Business Administration, and in 2015 with an MSBA in Accounting with an Emphasis in Financial Reporting. She was initiated into Delta Gamma Sorority in 2010. She moved to Denver out of college, purchased the car of her dreams, a “blacked out” jeep, and began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
During her childhood, Kelly belonged to the Girl Scouts of America and loved a variety of sports including soccer. She played for the YMCA and then for Boulder County Force through her senior year of high school, was named Captain of Boulder High School Soccer in 2010, and played Club Soccer while at the University of Colorado. She was selected to the Front Range All Conference Team in 2009, and the Academic All State First Team in 2010.
Kelly enjoyed extensive travel with her family including summers at the lake in Vermont, Thanksgivings in Chicago, Winter Olympics in Utah and Italy, and the Women’s World Cup Soccer in Canada. She also traveled extensively with friends over the years to California, Europe, and Mexico where she loved the beach. She enjoyed running the Bolder Boulder each year with family members, riding the Buffalo Bicycle Classic, ice skating in Evergreen, snowshoeing and skiing in the mountains and hiking the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She loved traditions, especially traveling to the mountains to cut down the annual Christmas tree with family and friends. She had a love for all animals, especially golden retrievers.
Kelly had a contagious personality, preferring the company of friends and family over all else. She loved life, finding humor at every opportunity, bringing out the best in others, and engaging all that surrounded her. She leaves behind a large, close-knit extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and their children, as well as numerous close friends from all ages of her life.
A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held on the north side of the Byron R. White Club Level at CU’s Folsom Field on Saturday, November 4th at 12:00PM.
