Laura Rochelle Stanko Joy, 57, passed away at home unexpectedly on March 5, 2022, in Lafayette, Colorado. She was born November 2, 1964, in Pueblo, Colorado.

Her three beautiful daughters were the center of her world. She was a beautiful woman who touched the lives of many around her.

She is survived by her mother; Lorraine Stanko; uncle Frank Donald Korun, daughters, Sarah Rochelle Joy, Emily Rose Joy and Heather Rose Joy; sisters, Suzette (Jerry) Compton and Diane (Marty Martinez) Stanko; niece, Vikki (Brian) Connor; nephews, Darren Compton and Neil Compton; special cousin, Blaž Stiplovšek, great nephews; Zachary, Joe, Dillon, Devon (Breanne), Brandon, Aiden, Logan, Kieran; great nieces; Kailey, Shelby; great-great nephews Ben, Ethan; as well as extended family and many friends.

Laura was a licensed insurance agent and worked many years in the business, both in Pueblo and the Denver Metro area. She attended college at Colorado University of Boulder.

Art and music played a big part in Laura’s life. She was a talented artist who loved to paint and draw. She also designed and decorated beautiful cakes for weddings, events and all of our family celebrations. Laura was a proud member of the music and dance group Okolitza Tamburitzans in Pueblo and loved nothing more than to perform on stage. She most recently played a large part in supporting and working for School of Rock in Broomfield where her youngest daughter Heather is a vocalist. Laura was always the happiest when she was listening to her beloved Rock-n-Roll and had a special connection to Sir Paul McCartney, The Beatles, and Adam Levine.

Heaven has received another angel. We on earth will all miss Laura’s love, companionship, kind nature, laughter, beautiful and caring soul.

Rest in peace Laura, our dear momma, daughter, sister, Tia and friend.
