LORETTA ANN GREEN
1927 – 2016
Loretta Ann Green, 89, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 11, 2016 with her family by her side. Her hearing loss had a major impact on her life, but Sunday morning she heard the church bells from her favorite chair in her apartment. It was her time, and she is now finally reunited with the love of her life, Bob. We will miss her happy hour toasts, her stylish dress and her beautiful smile. She was an amazing daughter, mother, sister and grandmother. She was lovingly known as “Gigi” to her two little great granddaughters who always brought a smile to her face.
She was born on July 18, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to August and Irene Reddel, and she was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years Robert “Bob” Green. Loretta is survived by her two children Nancy George of Boulder, Colorado, and her son Greg Green of Houston, Texas, son in law Rick George of Boulder, CO, daughter in law Beth Ewing of Houston, TX, grandchildren Jenni Reed and her husband Tom Reed, of Boulder, CO, Christi George, of Boulder, CO, Heather Green, of Destin, FL, Jamie Green, of Chicago, IL and great grandchildren Harper Reed and Maddie Reed, both of Boulder, CO.
Loretta was a popular and loved resident of the Carillon at Boulder Creek since 2013, and she was an active and joyful participant in most all of the resident activities and social functions. The family would like to extend our warmest thanks to her loving caregivers Mary Jo Jepsen, Heather Wilson, Mary Marcotte and Laura Mangus for their devotion.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 10:00AM at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 898 14th Street, Boulder, CO 80302. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA at a later date.
