Marcia Peteranetz

Marcia Peteranetz of Lafayette, CO passed away on January 4, 2025 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette.

Marcia, the daughter of Noble and Florence Irving, was born on May 23, 1943 in Des Moines, IA. She was a 1961 graduate of D.M. Roosevelt High School. She attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs where she earned a B.A. in music education in 1965. While at CC, she was president of her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta and sang with the Tour Choir. Marcia later earned her Master's Degree from the University of Colorado. She taught in Colorado Springs and in the Boulder Valley School District until her retirement in 2004.

Marcia was very active in the local community as a founding member of PEO Chapter ID and St. Ambrose Episcopal Church where she was an piano accompanist.

Marcia is survived by her loving husband Gene, and their two sons, Ty (Markeya) Peteranetz of Lincoln, NE, and Jay (Whitney) Peteranetz of Pooler, GA; a daughter-by-choice Alana (Jeff) Gowin of Thornton, CO; a sister Linda (Dave) Felber; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Noble A. Irving.
