Dr. Marian Kirk died Monday, March 9, 2020 at age 73. Marian was born in Houston, Texas on July 27, 1946 to William Lutz and Effie Jean Elrod Lutz. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of Houston. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. Gig‘em Aggies! Over her 40+ year career as an educator, Marian worked as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and university instructor. She truly loved working with children and continued to work full-time at the Loveland Classical Schools in Loveland, CO until the time of her death.
Marian is survived by her son John Kirk, his wife Jennifer Kirk, and two granddaughters of Louisville, CO. Marian loved all animals and enjoyed horseback riding and sailing. While her heart was always in Texas, she moved to Colorado almost 6 years ago to be closer to her beloved granddaughters. Together, they enjoyed many pizza dinners, sleepovers, and shopping trips.
*****This service has been CANCELED and will be rescheduled at a later date.*****Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, March 14th at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lafayette, CO. A reception will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marian’s memory to Hearts and Horses at www.heartsandhorses.org
