Carol Seideman, 82 years old, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 1, 2013. Carol was born in Holland, Michigan on December 3, 1931 to the late Paul and Edythe Wooden. As an adult she lived in New York City and in Mexico City before settling in Boulder, Colorado, in 1974. Carol earned her Master’s degree in Psychology from the New School of Social Research in New York City. In Boulder, Carol worked at the University of Colorado for over thirty years.
Carol had many passions and interests. She volunteered for the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom; a supporter of the anti-nuclear movement, she was a frequent demonstrator at Rocky Flats; she worked on the Colorado Single Payer for healthcare movement and volunteered at the World Affairs conference. She was active in the women's rights movement and lobbied for peace tirelessly for her entire life. She was a frequent Daily Camera open forum contributor, and always enjoyed a lively intellectual or political debate. She was very active politically, and served on many committees throughout the years, advocating for the incumbents and platforms she believed in. Carol was a warm, compassionate, outgoing person with a wonderful sense of humor.
Carol leaves to cherish her memory her son, Christopher Seideman and his wife, Karen Seideman Eifler; her daughter and son-in-law Amy Henderson and Rick Henderson; her grandchildren Jesica Henderson and Nicole Buquet; her great grandchildren Breydan, Kellen Buquet, and Adrien Antonucci; her sister, Mary Gonneau; her brother John Wooden, and by her companion, John Rushton. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Wooden.
