Muriel Harris, of Boulder, Colorado and formally Margate, New Jersey, passed away on March 6, 2013 in Boulder. Muriel was born to Irving and Edith Roser on March 31, 1925 in Atlantic City, New Jersey where she was raised. Muriel was known to many for her dedication to teaching. She was the first person to teach Lamaze Childbirth classes and was integral in allowing husbands into the delivery room. She helped to coach over 1000 births. She was a choreographer for many JCC Follies musicals. She worked with her family at Michel’s Bakery and was head of PR for The Golden Nugget Casino. Most importantly, however, was her family. She will be sadly missed by her children Gail Sloat (Jerry) & Tena Friedman (Marc) and her grandchildren Daniel & Emily Sloat and Alec, Ian and Carly Friedman, along with her siblings and their family members. A memorial service will be held at Congregation Beth Israel, 2501 Shore Road, Northfield, NJ on Wednesday March 13 at 12:00. In lieu of flowers please make donations to a charity of your choice in Muriel’s name.
