Nancy P. Meise died on December 5, 2020 in Boulder of complications from an infection. She was 84.
Raised in New Jersey, she graduated from Maryville College and worked as a teacher. She moved to Colorado in 1969 with her husband Henry August Meise, Jr., where she taught English as a Second Language at Boulder High School.
Following the death of her husband in 1991, Nancy volunteered with city handicapped parking enforcement and Boulder Community Hospital. She helped launch Jubilate Sacred Singers, a choir that performed at Carnegie Hall in 2008.
She enjoyed her friends at The Carillon senior living community, where she served as president of the resident council. She is survived by her sons Bill Meise (in Arvada) and John Meise August (in Los Angeles), her daughter-in-law Tami and son-in-law Mike, and her grandkids Ben and Amy. A lifelong reader, she was deeply appreciative of Boulder’s terrific libraries and staff.
A virtual memorial service is being planned. Details can be found at johnaugust.com/nancy
