Beloved Wife, Devoted Mother, Tender Grandmother, Loving Sister and Faithful Friend…
Nita was born to George and Eva Jasken on December 11, 1937 in Arlington, MN. After graduating from high school in Arlington, she moved to Minneapolis, MN and while working there, met her future husband Allan. They were married on November 4, 1961 in Arlington and following their marriage moved several times before settling in Boulder, CO in 1972 where they raised their 4 children.
While living in Boulder, Nita worked as a bookkeeper at several businesses before she and Allan started their own computer business, where she rose through the ranks to become Vice President. Upon retiring, they moved to Grand Junction, CO and have resided there for the last 12 years.
Nita and Allan shared a deep and growing love over the years. They enjoyed traveling and were able to spend an considerable amount of time traveling, not only within the United States, but also to other countries. She loved to play bridge and had made many close friends through this passion. Among her other interests were camping, fishing, solving crossword puzzles, attending plays and shows, cooking and cheating at board games. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor that entertained her family, even up to the end of her life.
She passed away peacefully at TRU Community Care Hospice Center in Louisville, CO on February 16, 2015, following a short illness and was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dennis. Nita is survived by her husband of 53 years, Allan and their four children; Laura (Todd) Clyncke of Broomfield, CO, Dawn (Jeff) Hodapp of Golden, CO, Scott (Meshelle) Johnston of Sonora, CA and Paul (Kathy) Johnston of Plano, TX. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; Jenna Hodapp, Nick Hodapp, Matthew Clyncke, Shaun Clyncke, Ciara Clyncke, Brandon Johnston, Gage Johnston, Chase Johnston, Melanie Johnston, Hunter Wilson, Luke Johnston, Logan Johnston and Mark Johnston and her four siblings; Louise (Bob) Schwankl, Bobbie (Roy) Wallace, Jon (Colleen) Jasken and Jill Hofmeister.
