PHYLLIS JEAN HOFFMAN

1933-2023

Phyllis Jean Hoffman passed away on Monday, June 19th, 2023 surrounded by family. She leaves behind her daughter Cindi (Hoffman) Marquez of Arvada, Colorado and her son Lance Hoffman of Eau Claire Wisconsin and her grandchildren Jordan Marquez, Talia Marquez, Ryan Marquez, Bryanna Hoffman, Brandon Barry and Ainsley Torgenson.

Phyllis was born to Myrtle (Orfald) Lehto and Wayno Lehto in Biwabik, Minnesota on November 7th, 1933. The family moved to Wichita, Kansas where she would marry Don Hoffman and have her children. While in Kansas she worked as "Miss Christmas” and a secretary to the bank President at the 4th National Bank. Phyllis and Don moved their family to Colorado to open a restaurant. They purchased Jimmy’s Restaurant in Aurora, Colorado where they worked together for many years. At 50 years old Phyllis began a new career in Real Estate. She worked for a few different home builders where she became like family to many of here clients. She would host parties, attend their family celebrations and even travel with some of them. Upon retiring from her successful career in Real Estate she would move to Arvada,Colorado and began a new chapter as a fixture at the fitness desk at the Apex Recreation Center for over 20 years! There she would plan epic parties for the Silver Sneakers including implementing the “Senior” Prom. This was so integral to her social nature as she was known to all people of all ages who came through the Apex. She truly loved the many chapters of her careers throughout the years. Collecting friendships along the way that lasted a lifetime.

Phyllis was an amazing Mother and Grandmother, better known as “Mimi” to her grandkids and all of their friends! She was a shared “Mimi” to all of the kids not just her own grandkids.

In Lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to be sent to Cynthia Marquez 7061 Salvia St, Arvada, CO 80007 for the purchase of a bench in her honor at the Apex Center. There will be a donation box at the church during her Celebration of Life at the date and time listed below.
