Phyllis Elaine (Renz) Howard, age 83, of Evergreen, Colorado, died Tuesday February 1, 2022, in a skilled nursing facility.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date, a private service will be held at the family’s request.
Phyllis was born in Laramie, Wyoming on November 10, 1938, to Albert Renz and Lydia (Raile) Renz. She was the second of three children. She graduated from Campion Academy in 1957 and graduated from Barnes Business College in 1959.
On December 7, 1957, she married David Kent Howard of Denver, Colorado. Dave met Phyllis when she took his order at the A&W Root beer stand. He ordered a large root beer frosty. It was love at first sight. They established residency in Arvada and in 1971 moved to Evergreen, Colorado. They recently celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Phyllis played the marimba and accordion. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, gardening & reading. She was excellent on roller skates, ice skates, and skis. She also enjoyed bowling with her mother.
Employment included working for Jefferson County Courthouse, Elementary School Secretary, PE Teacher and worked for AT&T Communications.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Dave Howard of Evergreen, Colorado; daughters Kim Schreven (John) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Brenda Pearson (Gary), of Loveland, Colorado and granddaughter, Lauren Bowman (Cody) of Johnstown, Colorado with their great grandchildren, Lake and Wave Bowman. Predeceased by grandson Evan Pearson.
She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.
