Rebecca E. Brookhart (nee Emeis), known affectionately as Becky, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on September 16, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa, Becky lived a life marked by cheerfulness and a gregarious spirit, as well as strong opinions!

Becky moved to Boulder, Colorado, in 1958 for college and lived most of the rest of her life in Boulder. She relished the many active pursuits that Colorado has to offer. On any given day you could find her jogging, cycling, cross-country or downhill skiing, or hiking. Becky was an enthusiastic traveler, including stints living in Switzerland and Italy in the 1960s and 1970s as a young mother, and taking a bucket-list trip to East Africa. In later years, she enjoyed her wonderful neighbors, her serene backyard, and her beloved beagle.

Becky is survived by her loving husband, Bill Brookhart; daughter, Amy Finch (Cal Finch); son, Garth Gustafson; and her cherished grandchildren, Ashley Gustafson, Francesca Finch, Elizabeth Gustafson, Clarissa Finch, and Julian Finch.

A private celebration of her life will be organized at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Becky's memory to the World Wildlife Fund or Planned Parenthood, causes she cared deeply about.
