Henry Shehan, age 23, passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2024, due to complications from a lifelong heart condition. Despite facing numerous health challenges throughout his life, Henry approached each day with remarkable courage, grace, and humor that touched countless lives.
Born to Michael and Kristie Shehan, Henry is survived by his loving parents and siblings Isabelle, Eloise, and George. His profound love for family was evident in every aspect of his life, as he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
A passionate traveler and adventurer, Henry explored the world extensively across Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, North America, and Latin America. This love for travel influenced his academic pursuits, as he majored in ecotourism while working toward a career in hospitality management. His entrepreneurial spirit shone through in his careful management of investments, working toward his dream of owning and operating his own hotels. His work ethic was exemplary, as demonstrated through his extensive experience in the hospitality industry.
Despite experiencing nerve damage and chronic pain from spinal surgery, Henry's determination led him to join the CSU Ram Country Dance Club, where he mastered swing and line dancing, forming lasting friendships along the way.
Henry was an avid reader and gifted writer who found joy in outdoor activities such as hiking, sailing, and fishing. His infectious humor and perpetual smile brightened the lives of everyone around him. Even while battling health issues, Henry never complained or questioned his circumstances, instead choosing to face each challenge with remarkable resilience and an abundance of love.
A private ceremony was held days after his passing, allowing close family and friends to bid farewell. A celebration of Henry's life will be held in Boulder at the St. Julien on Sunday, November 24th at 1pm. All whose lives were touched by Henry are welcome to attend.
Henry was our hero, beloved by many, and his spirit will forever live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him. His legacy of courage, kindness, and unwavering optimism will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
