(Paul) Scott Franklund, 56, passed away of natural causes at his home January 9, 2015. Scott was born in Boulder on August 9, 1958 to Dr. Paul and Jeanette (Tatge) Franklund. In 1976 he graduated from Fairview High School and continued his education at Colorado Mesa University, Colorado Mountain College where he obtained his Associates degree, and went on to Arizona State University where he received his MBA.
Scott will be remembered as an expert real estate broker who specialized in luxury homes and ranches, proudly selling many of Boulder's most iconic properties during his vast career. His greatest achievement was bringing the iconic Sotheby's real estate brand to Colorado's Front Range as the founder of Legendary Properties Sotheby's International Realty, which later merged with Fuller.
The most significant part of Scott's life was being an amazing, devoted father to his precious daughters, Savannah and Skye. He cherished his girls above all else. His dedication to his wife, Jill, was infinite. A doting father and dedicated husband, Scott always made time for and appreciated his wife and beautiful daughters.
Scott was an avid sportsman and loved traveling the world in search of world record trophy animals. His travels took him to places as far as Alaska's Aleutian Islands, Canada's Yukon Territory, Zambia in Central Africa, and his favorite South African safaris on multiple occasions.
Scott leaves behind his wife, Jill; daughters, Savannah (15) and Skye (9) of Longmont; father, Paul, and sisters, Diane and Karlin, of Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 21 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Boulder, with a light luncheon reception to immediately follow.
