Vernon Davidson

December 1, 1930 — March 27, 2022

Vernon A Davidson passed away on March 27th, 2022 in Louisville, CO at the age of 91 from Multiple Myeloma. Vern was born on December 1st, 1930 in Lincoln, NE to Minnie and Harley Davidson. He attended The University of Nebraska, Lincoln with a business degree. He went on to serve as an Army Lieutenant in the Korean War.

Vern moved to Kansas City and met his loving wife Jerry. He spent most of his adult life in Kansas City. His business career started with Nat Nast Company then on to become President of Swingster Apparel Company. Vern joined Beatrice Foods as Executive Vice President of the Leisure Goods division. He decided to venture out on his own with a few partners, purchasing the division and creating American Identity Corporation ( American Marketing Industries) which later became the largest manufacturer of Logo’d sporting apparel in North America. Vern sold the company in the late 80’s.

Vern and Jerry created the Davidson Family Foundation which has supported many great charities in Kansas City, Naples Fl and Boulder Colorado. Vern had an immense love for his family and close friends. He enjoyed playing golf, exercising and spending time at his Naples home. He traveled the world, loved great food, wine and of course his naps! He had a magnificent business mind, very smart, wicked sense of humor and told you exactly what he was thinking which landed him in hot water more than once.

Vern is survived by his wife Jerry Davidson of 62 years. His 4 children, James Davidson and wife Wendy, Jane Davidson, Mary Davidson Kovach and husband Joseph, Emily McCawley Perkins and husband Scott. Grandchildren: Kathleen Sullivan and husband Leo Fallucca, David S Long Jr, Matthew Sullivan, Andrew Davidson and wife Alex, Racheal Davidson, Evan Davidson, Michael McCawley, Jessica McCawley plus 3 great grandchildren and his sister Brenda Finberg and husband Roger.

Verns wishes were not to have a funeral, so the immediate family will have a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Vernon A Davidson would be much appreciated.
