Wayne Biehn

February 18, 1941 — August 2, 2013

Wayne Lee Biehn, 72, of Longmont, CO passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at home.

Wayne was born in Boulder, CO on February 18, 1941. He was a lifelong resident of Boulder County and a lifetime member of the Boulder Elks Lodge. After graduating from Boulder High School in 1960 he served in the US Army in Regensburg, Germany during the 1961 Berlin Crisis. After returning from Germany in 1964 he was employed by Neodata Services where he held various positions for the next 22 years. Wayne was self employed in publishing services for 18 years, retiring in 2005. He then worked part-time in the Records Department at the Boulder County Sheriffs Office for 5 years.

Wayne is survived by his wife Monia of 43 years, son Edward of Worcester, MA, two grand daughters, Kaitlin and Makenzie, one Aunt, Nettie Rooks, two brother’s in-law, Melvin East of Seward, NE and Steve Huckfeldt of Morrill, NE, two sister’s in-law, LaVaughn Shipman (Mel) of Curtis, NE and Midge Hansen of Ogallala, NE; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Alta and Ronald Hoover, daughter Kimberly Ann, and son Brian James.

Words can’t adequately describe the love and pride he had for his granddaughters; they were the light of his life. He enjoyed many activities with them including a trip to Disney World and Hawaii. Wayne enjoyed football. He held CU season tickets for many years and enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos. In his later years he enjoyed sitting on the back patio, drinking a beer, feeding the Blue Jays and squirrels, and sometimes just watching the grass grow. You will be in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St, Longmont, Friday, August 9, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. There will be a reception at the Longmont Elks Lodge, 306 Coffman St, following the service.
