William (Bill) Joseph Turner (formerly of Fairview, IL) passed from this life 10:07 am., September 16, 2013, in Longmont, CO. Bill was born February 18, 1942 in St. Augustine, IL, the son of Mary Nichols and W. Paul Turner. He married Marty Howard, August 12, 1961. They divorced. He later married Becky Fleming. They also divorced.
Bill is survived by two sons, Regan Michael (Maya) Turner, Boulder, CO, and Brian Scott Turner, Longmont, CO, grandchildren, Garrett, Tyler, and Ryan Turner, Boulder, CO, Jonah and Kaley Turner, Longmont, CO; brothers Rodney (Ruby)Turner, Yukon, OK, Bob (Wanda) Turner, Cameron, IL; sisters, Carol Gummerson, Mapleton, IL, Barbara Shreves Abingdon, IL, and Paula (Job) Marshall, Grand Saline, TX; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Nichols and W. Paul Turner, son Kevin Paul Turner, niece Teresa Gummerson, and nephew Jimmy Gummerson.
Bill attended Avon High School and graduated Fairview High School with the class of 1959. He received his BSBA in economics from the University of Denver in 1967. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard.
Bill owned his own businesses, first, his record store business on the Hill in Boulder, The Audiophile. He changed careers and co-founded Disability Income Specialists, then Home Financing Specialists and remained in the insurance and real estate business the rest of his career.
Bill was active in the Boulder Jaycees and various insurance and real estate organizations. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on his computer spreadsheeting, and collecting and listening to music.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 19th, 4:00 p.m. Boulder Valley Christian Church, 7100 So. Boulder Road, Boulder, CO., Kathy Howe officiating.
